Why doesn't Mama Bird Prenatal Multi+ have DHA in it?

In order to provide expectant moms with the right amount and type of DHA, we needed to make a separate, easy-to-swallow, soft-gel capsule. Our Mama Bird Pre+Postnatal DHA is made from sustainably sourced, wild-caught anchovies, mackerel, and sardines, using only triglyceride oil.
Most prenatal vitamins that include DHA don't come from the best source. They use synthetic ethyl esters because those can be compressed.. Plus, they also don't use optimal amounts.
Like our prenatal vitamins, our DHAs are pure, natural, and made from the highest quality ingredients available.

Why does Mama Bird Prenatal Multi+ have only 50 mg of choline?

We know choline is important for your growing baby’s brain and neurodevelopment during pregnancy and breastfeeding, and it’s also a nutrient-rich ally for your own brain health at every stage of life.
Choline is a large nutrient, and including it in higher amounts in Mama Bird Prenatal Multi+ would make our once-a-day tablet much larger—something we know isn’t always comfortable or convenient, especially during pregnancy.
That’s why we offer the flexibility to pair Mama Bird Prenatal Multi+ with our Mama Bird Mineral Complex, which provides an additional 550mg of choline. Together, these products help you meet your choline needs without overwhelming you with a large tablet.
It also includes vital nutrients such as vitamin D, inositol, magnesium, and calcium, which help manage mood, cognition, and stress levels, promoting relaxation and overall brain health.
We recommend taking Mama Bird Prenatal Multi+ in the morning to support energy – and Mama Bird Mineral Complex in the evening to help you rest. Plus, taking our mineral formula in the evening won’t block iron absorption from your morning vitamins.

What is the difference between folinic acid (folinate) and folic acid?

Folinic acid is a non-methylated form of folate that can be easily converted to active forms within the body. Folinic acid may be easier for individuals who are sensitive to methylated nutrients to tolerate than supplemental L-methylfolate. Folic acid, on the other hand, is the synthetic form of folate and is not easily converted in the body.
